The Act Of Killing

The film is about a Dictatorship group called the paramilitaries who were killing communists so they could rule the country. The film followed the Gangsters who performed the killing on the communists. The director 'Joshua Oppenheimer' gave the Gangsters complete control about how they would re-enact they killings to show just how brutal they were.

They scene that stood out for me the most a scene at the beginning. In this scene the Gangsters were re-enacting capturing a communist and torturing then in their house. This stood out because you could see the reaction of the children who didn't know it was a film and they thought it was real. The children were crying and really scared because they thought it was real. The Gangsters didn't even look at the children or even care because they were trying to make a good re-enactment. This means that even when they were performing the killings for real they didn't take into consideration about who else they were hurting.

The filmmaker did have a presents within the film because the actors would often refer to Joshua by name when filming. We never saw him but knew he was always there.

These honored documentary film makers are the people who had executive producer credits - Werner Herzog, Errol Morris,

The Look Of Silence is the sequel to the Killing Act. This film is about a victim of the killings and confronts the Gangsters. The victim of only called Anonymous but the Gangsters killed his brother. He doesn't confront them but listens to their stories and realizes that they don't express any remorse.
